Theodor Müller
Theodor Müller: Moosloch in Winter, oil on canvas, 1980
Patrick’s grandfather Theo painted this picture on one of his many visits to the Black Forest. You could frequently see him wandering about the property, water colors in hand, on the lookout for a memorable impression to be captured. Back in his studio in Frankfurt, he would turn some of these sketches into oil paintings; including this one, depicting a group of snow-covered pines at the top of the hill behind our house.
Painter, sculptor, mechanical engineer, poet – Theo was the original renaissance man. And a big influence on Patrick during his childhood years. Theo’s artworks are all over our house, reminding us of him; and that we should always be on the lookout for the magical in the quotidien.
