Silver Medals for our Perries

This year we again participated in an international cider competition: after Frankfurt and London we opted for the XIII SISGA Awards in Gijón, located in the Asturias region of Spain.

SISGA (Salón Internacional de les Sidres de Gala) is the flagship event of the Asturian cider industry. The focus is, of course, on Spanish sidra. But the convention and associated cider competition also include international producers of cider and perry. With an annual production of 45 million liters, Asturia is one of the world’s leading cider-producing regions. Folks take their cider very seriously here.

Another thing that makes this competition special is that the jury is primarily composed of participating cider producers. This ensure that judging is both demanding and at a very high technical level. We are all the more pleased to have taken home a silver medal for both our entered perries: Perry Cuvée 2021 and Perry “Cobalt Lake” 2022.
